Debits to individual accounts, as reported to the Federal Reserve Hoard by
banks in leading cities for the week endingCter.o'jM iU., which included but five busi­
ness days in many of the reporting cities, aggregated OS, 293»000 , 000 , or 32 per
cent below the total reported for the preceding week and 35 Per cent below the
total for the corresponding week of last year.
Aggregate debits for the l4l centers for which figures have been published
weekly since January 193,9 amounted to $7*722,000,000, as compared with
$11,335,000,000 tho preceding week and $12,015',000,000 the week ending October 15
of last year.
