BAM DEBITS
October 1J, 1936
Debits to individual accounts, as reported by banks in leading cities for the
wee!' ended October l4, which included only five business days in most of tho re­
porting centers, aggregated $ 7 *290, 000, 000, or 23 percent below the total reported
for the preceding wee?: and 5 percent below the total for the corresponding week of
last year, which also included only five business days in most of tho reporting center^

For immediate release

Aggregate debits for the l4l cities for which a separate total has been main­
tained since January 1919 amounted to $6,632,000,000, compared with $C, 706,000,000
the preceding week and $71 037,000,000 the week ended October l 6 of last year.
