DEBITS

Debits to individual accounts, as reported to the Federal Reserve Board b y
banks in leading cities for the week ended October 10, aggregated $5,840,000,000,
or 19 per cent below the total reported for the preceding week and 2 per cent above
the total for the corresponding week of last year.
Aggregate debits for the l4l cities for which a separate total has been main­
tained since January 1919 amounted to $5,347,000,000, compared with $ 6 , 610 , 000,000
the preceding week and $ 5 ,3l4 ,000,000 the week ended October 11 of last year.
