BANK DEBITS

Board of Governors
of the Federal Reserve System
October 10, 193®

Debits to individual accounts, as reported by banks in leading cities for the
week ended October 5, aggregated <$8,842,000,000, or 31 percent above the total re­
ported for the preceding week and 7 percent below the total for the corresponding
week of last year.
Aggregate debits for the l4l cities for which a separate total has been main­
tained since January 1919 amounted to 08,131,000,000, compared with $6,160,000,000
the preceding week and $8,704,000,000 the week ended October 6 of last year.
