BANK DEBITS.

Bolow is given the Federal Roscrvo Board's weekly statement of debits to
individual account, reported through tho Fodoral Roscrvo banks by ovor 150
of tho country*3 moro important cloaring houses. Transactions covor tho week­
ly periods oxxding Wednesday November 5 and October 29, of tho present year, and
in case of most of the reporting ccnters also the weekly period ending a yoar
earlier, i .e ., Nov. 6, I 9 I8 .
Aggregate debits to individual account were slightly loss than tho wook
before, the clearing house banks at New York, Philadelphia, Pitts burgh, Baltimore
and Minneapolis reporting substantial decreases, whilo tho banks at the other
important citios showed larger figures for the week under review than for tho
preceding week. As compared with corresponding 1918 figures, available for
1^3 cities, debits to individual account showed an increase of about 4-5 per cent,
all tho larger citios participating in tho incroase. Of the totalincreaso about
two-thirds was the share of the New York City banks.
The statement closes with a recapitulation giving comparative figures ty ro~
serve districts for 156 centers reporting ccmplote data for tho two most recont
weeks, also like figures for tho 1 % centers for which data are available for
tho past wock and tho week ending November 6, of last yoar.
