DEBITS TO DEPOSIT ACCOUNTS EXCEPT INTERBANK ACCOUNTS

Bank debits as reported by banks in leading centers fer the week ended
October 29 aggregated $11,012,000,000. Total debits during the 13 weeks ended
October 29 amounted to 1135,076,000,000, or 29 per cent above the total reported
for the corresponding period a year ago. At banks in New York City there as an in­
crease of 27 per cent compared with the corresponding period a year ago, and at the
other reporting centers there was an increase of 30 Per cent.
