BANK DEBITS

Soard of Governors
of the Federal Reserve Systart
November 25, 1940

Debits to deposits accounts (except interbank accounts), as reported by
banks in leading cities for the week ended November 20, aggregated $10,282,000,000.
Total debits during the 13 weeks ended November 20 amounted to $110,146,000,000,
or 4 percent above the total reported for the corresponding period a year ago. At
banks in New York City the total was about the same as for the corresponding period
a year ago, and at the other reporting centers there was an increase of 6 percent.
