Debits to individual accoiuits, as reported to the Federal Reserve Board by
banks in leading cities for the week ended November 21 , aggregated $ 6 , 911 , 000, 000 ,
or 17 per cent above the total reported for the preceding week, which included only
five business days in most of the reporting cities, and 5 per cent above the total
for the corresponding week of last year.
Aggregate debits for the lftl cities for which a separate total has been main­
tained since January 1919 amounted to about $ 6, 369 , 000 , 000, compared with
*5,^55,000,OjO the preceding week and $6,148,000,000 the week ended November 22 of
last year,
