BANK DEBITS.

Below is given the Federal Eeserve -Board's weekly statement of debits to
individual account, reported through the Federal Beserve banks ty over 150
of the country’ s more important clearinghouses.
Transactions cover the week­
ly periods ending Wednesday November J.2 and 5, of the present year, and in case
of most of the reporting centers also the weekly period ending a year earlier,
i.e ., Nov. 1 3 , 19'IS.
Aggregate dobits to individual accounj/were 10, S09 millions for the week, the
largest amount on record* The total for the New York City clearing house banks
w-„s 876 millions larger tnan the week before, reflecting tho exceptionally heavy
trading cn the stock exchange, while several of thp other large cities reported
smaller totals than for the preceding woek*
As compared with corresponding I9 I 6
figures, available for 142 citioe, debits to individual account showed an in­
crease of about 1+5 per cent#
The statement closes with a recapitulation giving comparative figures lay re­
serve districts for 153 centers reporting complete data for the two most recent
weeks, also like figures for the W 2 centers for which data are available for
the past week and the week ending November 13>of last year.
