BANK DEBITS—DEBITS TO DEPOSIT ACCOUNTS EXCEPT INTERBANK ACCOUNTS

Bank debits as reported by banks in 333 leading centers for the month of
October aggregated 101,848 million dollars. During the past three months t o t a l
debits for the same centers amounted to 301,985 million dollars or 3 per cent
below the t o t a l reported f o r the corresponding period a year ago. At banks in
New York City there was a slight increase compared with the corresponding threemonths period a year ago, and a t the 332 other centers there was a decrease of
4 per cent.
