BAM DEBITS

Debits to individual accounts, as reported to the Federal Reserve Board by
banks in leading cities for the week ending May 25, aggregated $5*587,000,000,
or 13 per cent below the total reported for the preceding week and 44 per cent
below the total for the corresponding week of last year.
Aggregate debits for the l4l centers for which figures have been published
weekly since January 1919 amounted to $5»15*+ >000,000,, as compared with
$5,914,000,000 the preceding week and $9,385,000,000 the week ending May 2J of
last year.
