BANK DEBITS

Board of Governors
of the Federal Reserve System
May 20, 1940

Debits to deposit accounts (except interbank accounts), as reported by banks
in leading cities for the week ended May 15, aggregated $8,416,000,000. Total debits
during the 13 weeks ended Hay 15 amounted to $110,350,000,000, or 6 per cent above
the total reported for the corresponding period a year ago.
