BOARD OF GOVERNORS OF THE FEDERAL RESERVE SYSTEM I (#6a* Immediate Release) May 11, 1951 B A M DEBITS - -DIBITS |0 DEPOSIT ACCOUNTS EXCEPT INTERBANK ACCOUNTS Bank debits as reported by banks in 3^-2 leading centers for the month of April aggregated 128,437 million dollars. During the past three months total debits amounted to 386 ; 489 million dollars or 23 per cent above the total reported for the corresponding period a year ago. At banks in New York City there was an increase of 19 per cent compared with the corresponding three-months period a year agoj and at the other centers there was an increase of 25 per cent.
