Form FR-285 STATEMENT FOR THE PRESS For immediate release BANK DEBITS Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System March 6 , 1939 Debits to individual accounts, as reported by banks in leading cities for the week ended March 1, aggregated 08,689,000,000, or >4 percent above the total re ported for the preceding week, which included only five business days, and 1 per cent above the total for the corresponding v/eel: of last year* Aggregate debits for the l4l cities for which a separate total has been main tained since January 1919 amounted to $8,010,000,000, compared with $5,922,000,000 the preceding neek and $7,912,000,000 the week ended March 2 of last year.
