BANK DEBITS— DEBITS TO DEPOSIT ACCOUNTS, EXCEPT INTERBANK ACCOUNTS
Bank debits as reported by banks in leading cities for the week ended
March 26 aggregated $9,695,000,000. Total debits durin;; the 13 weeks ended March 26
amounted to $124-,226,000,000, or 14 per cent above the total reported for the
corresponding period a year ago. At banks in Nev; York City there was an increase
of 11 per cent compared with the corresponding period a year ago, and at the other
reporting centers there was an increase of 16 per cent.
