Debits to deposit accounts (except interbank accounts^ as reported by omks
in leading cities for the week ended February 26, aggregated $8,785,000,000. Total
debits during the 13 weeks ended February 26, amounted to $124,891,000,000* or 10
percent above the total reported for the corresponding period a year ago. At bonks
in New York City there was an increase of 7 percent compared with the corresponding
period a year ago, and at the other reporting centers there was an increase of 13
percent.
