tot^l debits to deposit account , repotted through the Federal
about I 5O of the country* s more important clearing houses*
the weekly periods ending Wednesday February 1$ and Wscbesday

Owing to the universal observance of February 22 as a legal holiday, figures
of both debits to individual account and debits to bank account cover only 5 days1
business instead of 6 days* business included in the figures of the inffiBdia.t'ely
preceding week. Larger than ’ . average declines in debits to individual account
are shown for Chicago, Detroit and most of the Pacific Coast cities. Debits to
bank account while moving in the same direction as the debits to individual ac­
count, in most Cases show relatively larger declines for the week.
The statement closes with a recapitulation giving comparative data by
reserve districts for 152 centers reporting complete data for both weeks.
Figures of reporting clearing houses by Federal Reserve districts are as
