BiiNK DEBITS— DEBITS TO DEPOSIT ACCOUNTS EXCEPT INTERBANK ACCOUNTS
Bank debits as reported b y banks in 27k leading centers for the month of
February aggregated 51*^71 million dollars. During the past three months total
debits for the same centers amounted to 1 7 1 ,6)41 million dollars or 17
cent
above the total reported for the corresponding period a year ago. iit banks in
New York City there was an increase of 22 per cent compared with the corresponding
three-months period a year ago, and at the 273 other centers there was an increase
of II4 per cent,
