BAKE DEBITS

Debits to individual accounts, as reported to the Federal Reserve Board by
banks in leading cities for the weelc ending June 4, which included but five busi­
ness days in most of the reporting cities, aggregated $12 , 742 , 000,000 or 2 per
cent below the total^ reported for the preceding week, and 23 per cent below the
total reported for the corresponding week of last year, which also included but
five business days in most of the reporting cities.
Aggregate debits for l4l centers for which figures have been published
weekly since January 1919 amounted to $11,953,000,000, as compared with
$12,288,000,000 for the preceding week and $1 5 , 595, 000,000 for the week ending
June 5 01 last year.
