PRESS STATEMENT

Below is given the Federal Reserve Board* s regular weekly statement of total
debits to deposit account, reported through, the Federal. Reserve oanks by about
l^O of the country * s more important clearing house s *
Transactions cover the
weekly periods ending Wednesday May 28 and June 4*, 1315*
Following the June 3 payments by the larger subscribers to Victory notes^
aggregate debits to individual account show an increase for the we ok of ' j % 0 mi 1lions, or 7 p^r cent over the preceding wcek^s total#
0vor ^v/o-thirds of the
increase is reported for the New Y'n'k City banks?
Pittsburgh and Chicago like­
wise report large increases in these totals*
Aggregate debits to bank account show a slight dedlne for uha week*
In
particular the new york banks show but a slight increase, wnile the Cnicago
banks report a considerable decrease in these items*

The statement closes with a recapitulation giving comparative figures by reserve
districts for 1*33 centers reporting complete daca for both vvee^Bt jriguros for
reporting clearing houses by Federal E© serve districts are as follows:
