STATEMENT FOR THE PRESS
Board of Governors
of the Federal Reserve System
June 12, 1937
Debits to individual accounts, as reported by banks in leading cities for the
week ended June 9, aggregated $8 ,256,000,000, or 1 percent below the total reported
for the preceding week, which included five business days in most of the reporting
centers, and 2 percent above the total for the corresponding week of last year.

BANK DEBITS

Aggregate debits for the l4l cities for which a separate total has been main­
tained since January 1919 amounted to $7,572,000,000, compared with $7,725,000,000
the preceding week and $7,488,000,000 the week ended June 10 of last year.
