Ba NK d e b i t s — d e b i t s t o d e p o s i t ACCOUNTS EXCEPT INTERBANK a c c o u n t s
As announced on lurch 30, the Board has discontinued the issuance of its
weekly "bank debits" press statement and beginning with the month of M a y has collec­
ted figures on a m onthly basis from member and nonmeniber banks in the centers pre­
viously included in the w eekly bank debits statement. These figures for M a y are
snown in the following statement, in comparison with prior monthly figures which
were derived from reports covering weeks ending on Yvednesdays in accordance with the
method used in previous monthly reports.
A number of n e w l y reporting oentors have been added; the figures for these
new centers are not included in the summary tables below, but the M a y 1942 and avail­
able comparative figures for eaoh such center are listed under the appropriate
distriots.
