July 20, 1935

Debits to individual accounts, as reported to the Federal Reserve Board by
banks in leading cities for the week ending July 17, aggregated $8,535*000,000,
or 30 percent above the total reported for the preceding week, which included only
five business days, and 13 percent above the total for the corresponding wedc of
last year.
Aggregate debits for the l4l cities for which a separate total has been
maintained since January 1919 amounted to $7,9^8,000,000, compared with
$6,083,000,000 the preceding week and $7,039,000,000 the week ending July IS of
last year.
