During the past three months t o t a l debits for the same centers amounted to 270,085 million d o l l a r s or 4 per cent above the t o t a l reported for the corresponding period a year ago. At banks in New York City there was a decrease of 9 per cent compared with the corresponding three-months period a year ago, and at the 333 other centers there was an increase of 13 per cent.
