BOARD OF GOVERNORS OF THE FEDERAL RESERVE S YSTEM (For Immediate Release) J u l y 10, 19U6 BANK DEBITS—DEBITS TO DEPOSIT ACCOUNTS EXCEPT INTERBANK ACCOUNTS Bank d e b i t s as reported by banks in 33U leading c e n t e r s f o r the month of June aggregated 86,663 million d o l l a r s * During the p a s t t h r e e months t o t a l d e b i t s f o r the same centers amounted t o 260,093 m i l l i o n d o l l a r s or 2 per cent above the t o t a l reported f o r the corresponding period a year ago. At banks in New York City there was an i n c r e a s e of 2 per cent compared with the corresponding three-months period a year ago, and a t the 333 other centers there was an increase of 3 per cent.
