For immediate release
BAM DEBITS
Debits to individual accounts, as reported by banks in leading cities for the
week ended December 30, which included only five business days, aggregated
$ 9 , 67U,000, 000, or 22 percent below the total reported for the preceding week and
7 percent above the total for the corresponding week of last year, which also
included only five business days.
Aggregate debits for the l4l cities for which a separate total has been main
tained since January 1919 amounted to $9,005,000,000, compared with $11,589,000,000
the preceding week and $3, 409,000,000 the wee ended January 1 of last year.
