hanks in leading cities for the week ending January IS, 1928 , aggregated
$1 5 , 282,000,000 or 10.6 per cent below the total of $1 7 , 102 , 000,000 reported for
the preceding week.
Debits for the week under review are $1,716,000,000 or 12.7 per cent above
those for tne week ending Janua^ 19 , 1927. New York City reported an increase
of $1,124,000,000, San Francisco $107,000,000, Chicago $90,000,000, Boston
$60,000,000, Philadelphia, Cincinnati and Detroit &21,000,000 each, and Kansas
City $20,000,000.
Aggregate debits for l4l centers for which figures have been published weekly
since January 1919 amounted to ?l4,440,591,000 , as compared with $16 , 206, 293,000
