Debits to individual accounts, as reported to the Coders! Reserve Board by
banks in leading cities for the week ended January 17, aggregated $6,566,000,000
or 5 Per cent above the total reported for the preceding week and 3 per cent
above the total for the corresponding week of last year.
Aggregate debits for the l4l cities for which a separate total has been main­
tained since January 1919 amounted to $6,10.0,000,000, compared with
$5,768,000,000 the preceding-week and $5,891,000,000 the week ended January 18
of last year.
