BANK CEBITS—CEBITS TO EEPOSIT ACCOUNTS EXCEPT INTERBANK ACCOUNTS
Bank debits as reported by banks in 334 leading centers for the month of
December aggregated $1,271 million dollars. During the past three months total
debits for the same centers amounted to 242,937 million dollars or 17 per cent
above the total reported for the corresponding period a year ago. At banks in New
York City there was an increase of 26 per cent compared with the corresponding
three-months period a year ago, and at the 333 other centers there was an increase
of 12 per cent.
