Debits to individual accounts, as reported by banks in leading cities for the
week ended February 24, aggregated §8,935*000,000, or 1 percent above the total re­
ported for the preceding v/eek and 16 percent above the total for the corresponding
v;eek of last year. The current v
/eelc and the corresponding week of last year had
only five business days, vMle the v/eek ended February 17 had only five business
days in most of tin ; reporting centers.
Aggregate debits for the l4l cities for which a separate total has been main­
tained since January 1919 amounted to yS,339,000,000, compared rath $8,155,000,000
the preceding v/eek and 07,177,000,000 the week ended February 26 of last year.
