BMIC DEBITS Debits to individual accounts, as reported to the Federal Reserve Board by banks in leading cities for the week ending i'ebruary 23,^1927, aggregated $1 1 ,095 , 000,000 or 12.3 P®r cent below the total of $12,b55,000,000 reported for the preceding week. The current week included but five business days, February 22, Washington's Birthday, being observed as a holiday throughout the country. Total debits for the week under review are $934,000,000 or 9-2 per cent above those for the week ending February 24, 1926 , which also included but five business days. Hew York City reported an increase of $713,000,000, San Francisco ~75,000,000, Philadelphia $37,000,000, Los Angeles $36,000,000, Chicago $32,000,000 and Cleveland $31,000,000. The largest reduction, $28,000,000 was reported by Detroit. Aggregate debits for l4l centers for '*;hich figures have been published weekly since January 1919 amounted to $10,4o6,045,000, as compared witn $1 1 ,952 , 275,000 for the preceding week and $9 , 553 , 238,000 for the week ending February 24, 1926.
