Form FR-285 For Immediate release (STATEMENT FOR THE PRESS BANK DEBITS Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System February 19, 1938 Debits to individual accounts, as reported by banks in leading cities for the week ended February 16, which included only five business days in many of the re porting centers, aggregated $7,066,000,000, or 10 percent above the total reported for the preceding week and 20 percent below the total for the corresponding week of last year, which also included only five business days in many of the reporting centers. Aggregate debits for the l4l cities for which a separate total has been main tained since January 1919 amounted to $6,503,000,000, compared with $5,862,000,000 the preceding week and $8,155,000,000 the week ended February 17 of last year.
