BAM DEBIT'S—DEBITS TO DEPOSIT .uCCvUNTS EXCEPT INTERBANK ACCOUNTS
Bank debits as reported by banks in 334 leading centers for the month of
March aggregated 76,089 million dollars. During the past three months t o t a l debits
for the same centers amounted to 218,692 million dollars or 22 percent above the
t o t a l reported for the corresponding period a year ago. At banks in New York City
there was an increase of 2? percent compared with the corresponding three-months
period a year ago, and at the 333 other centers there was an increase of 20 percent.
