During the past three months t o t a l debits for the same centers amounted to 218,692 million dollars or 22 percent above the t o t a l reported for the corresponding period a year ago. At banks in New York City there was an increase of 2? percent compared with the corresponding three-months period a year ago, and at the 333 other centers there was an increase of 20 percent.
