FEDERAL statistical RESERVE release For Immediate r e l e a s e September 6, 1967 H. 12 COMMERCIAL AND INDUSTRIAL LOANS OOTSTANDUJO BY INDUSTRY Commercial and I n d u s t r i a l loans decreased i n t e n d i s t r i c t s and a net of $391 m i l l i o n a t weekly r e p o r t i n g l a r g e commercial t a n k s during t h e week ended August 30. The p r i n c i p a l n e t decreases were $76 m i l l i o n in loans t o manufacturers of machinery, $6l m i l l i o n t o " o t h e r " p u b l i c u t i l i t i e s , $53 m i l l i o n t o manufacturers of food, l i q u o r , and tobacco products, and $11$ m i l l i o n t o u n c l a s s i f i e d borrowers. The l a r g e r o f f s e t t i n g n e t i n c r e a s e s ware $44 m i l l i o n i n loans in bankers' acceptances, and $30 m i l l i o n each t o manufacturers of t r a n s p o r t a t i o n equipment, and t o manufacturers of t e x t i l e s , a p p a r e l , and l e a t h e r products.
