INDUSTRY

Commercial and industrial loans decreased a net of $106 million at weekly
reporting large commercial banks during the week ended August 28, 1974.
The principal net decreases were $162 million in loans for retail trade,
$144 million in foreign commercial and industrial loans and $97 million in loans
to manufacturers of machinery.
The largest offsetting increase was $185 million in all other loans.
