COMMERCIAL AND INDUSTRIAL LOANS OUTSTANDING BY INDUSTRY
Commercial and I n d u s t r i a l loans Increased a net of $570 m i l l i o n
a t weekly reporting l a r g e commercial banks during the week ended
October 1 , 1975.
The p r i n c i p a l net increases are $168 m i l l i o n i n loans f o r
communication, $135 m i l l i o n i n loans f o r r e t a i l t r a d e and $87
m i l l i o n i n loans for t r a n s p o r t a t i o n .
The l a r g e s t o f f s e t t i n g decrease was $94 m i l l i o n i n a l l other
loans.

COMMERCIAL AND INDUSTRIAL TERM LOANS OUTSTANDING BY INDUSTRY
T o t a l commercial and I n d u s t r i a l term loans were $47,756 m i l l i o n a s
of September 24, 1975. This was an i n c r e a s e of $1,161 m i l l i o n over t h e
comparable d a t a a year ago, and an i n c r e a s e of $361 m i l l i o n from t h e l a s t
Wednesday In August.
The p r i n c i p a l n e t changes were $141 m i l l i o n i n l o a n s f o r s e r v i c e s ,
$78 m i l l i o n i n l o a n s f o r petroleum r e f i n i n g , and $68 m i l l i o n i n f o r e i g n
commercial and i n d u s t r i a l l o a n s .
The t o t a l of a l l b u s i n e s s term loans on September 24 r e p r e s e n t s
49 p e r c e n t of b u s i n e s s o u t s t a n d i n g a t l a r g e commercial banks i n t h e s e r i e s .
