COMMERCIAL AND INDUSTRIAL LOANS OUTSTANDING BY INDUSTRY
C o m m e r c i a l and industrial loans decreased a net of $133 m i l l i o n at
weekly reporting large commercial banks during the w e e k ended S e p t e m b e r 29.
The p r i n c i p a l net decreases were $109 m i l l i o n in loans to m a n u f a c t u r e r s
of machinery, and $51 m i l l i o n to m a n u f a c t u r e r s of "other" fabricated m e t a l
products.
The larger offsetting net increases were $68 m i l l i o n in loans
public utilities, and $54 m i l l i o n to unclassified borrowers.
