COMMERCIAL AND INDUSTRIAL LOAMS OUTSTANDDP BI INDUSTRY

Commercial and Industrial loans decreased In elgbt districts and a net of
$14$ nllllcn at weekly reporting member banks during the week ended October 20.

The principal net decreases were $$8 million in loans to manufacturers
of textiles, apparel, and leather products, $35 million to retail trade, $2$ million
to manufacturers of machinery, and $65 million to unclassified borrowers.

*

The larger offsetting net increases were $64 million, in loans to commodity
dealers, and $44 million to transportation, oammmlcatlen , and other public utilities.

Outstanding loans and changes from a week ago and a year ago are shown "below;
cumulative changes since mid-year and during the comparable period last year are Shown
in the last two columns.
