GOV/s RESERVE release Hilll For immediate release November 25, 3,964 H.12 COMMERCIAL AND INDUSTRIAL LOANS OUTSTANDING BY INDUSTRY Commercial and industrial loans increased a net of $356 million at weekly ' reporting member banks during the week ended November 18. The principal net increases were $77 million in loans to manufacturers of food, liquor, and tobacco products, $67 million to retail trade, $38 million to commodity dealers, $36 million to manufacturers of machinery, $24 million to manufacturers of chemicals and rubber products, $23 million to transportation, corarau" nication, and other public utilities, and $65 million to unclassified borrowers. v The largest offsetting net decrease was $25 million in loans to manufac* turers of textiles, apparel, and leather products. The outstanding loans and changes during the week and since mid-year are shown below; fourth column shows the changes during the comparable period last year.
