COMMERCIAL AND INDUSTRIAL LOANS OUTSTANDING BY INDUSTRY

Commercial and i n d u s t r i a l loans increased i n eleven d i s t r i c t s and a net of
- $4o4 m i l l i o n a t weekly r e p o r t i n g l a r g e commerical banks during t h e week ended November l 6 .
The principal net i n c r e a s e s were $165 m i l l i o n i n loans t o r e t a i l t r a d e , $66
Million t o commodity d e a l e r s , and $40 m i l l i o n t o manufacturers of t r a n s p o r t a t i o n equipment.

The l a r g e r o f f s e t t i n g n e t decreases were $13 m i l l i o n i n loans t o manufacturers
of t e x t i l e s , apparel, and l e a t h e r products, and' $11 m i l l i o n t o " a l l other" types of
business concerns.
