CHANGES IN COMMERCIAL AMD INDUSTRIAL LOAMS BY HDOB1RY

Commercial and industrial loans decreased in seven districts and a net of
*95 million at weekly reporting member banks during the week ended May 10, 19_
The principal net decreases were $60 million in loans to manufacturers of food,
liquor, and tobacco products, $42 million to commodity dealers, $25 million to manufacturers of metals and metal products, and $22 million to public utilities.
The largest offsetting net increase was $25 million in loans to the
wholesale and retail trade.
Changes in loans during the week and since year-end are shown below; the
third column shows the changes during the comparable period last year.
