Commercial and I n d u s t r i a l l o a n s I n c r e a s e d In e l e v e n d i s t r i c t s and a n e t of
$276 m i l l i o n a t weekly r e p o r t i n g member "banks during t h e week ended March 2.
The p r i n c i p a l n e t i n c r e a s e s were $85 m i l l i o n i n l o a n s t o r e t a i l t r a d e , $59
m i l l i o n t o m a n u f a c t u r e r s of machinery, $50 m i l l i o n t o manufacturers of t e x t i l e s , a p p a r e l ,
and l e a t h e r p r o d u c t s , and $42 m i l l i o n t o u n c l a s s i f i e d "borrowers.
The l a r g e s t o f f s e t t i n g n e t decrease was $43 m i l l i o n i n l o a n s t o t r a n s p o r t a t i o n ,
communication, and o t h e r p u b l i c u t i l i t i e s .
