COMMERCIAL AND INDUSTRIAL LOANS OUTSTANDING BY INDUSTRY
Commercial and industrial loans increased a net of $116 million at weekly
reporting large commercial banks during the week ended February 26.
The principal net increases were $62 million in loans to services, $35
million to manufacturers of textiles, apparel, and leather products, $30 million
to transportation, and $200 million to "all other11 loans.
The larger offsetting net decreases were $99 million in loans to the
mining industry, which includes producers of petroleum and natural gas, and $83 million
to unclassified borrowers.
