FEDERAL inn • fW statistical RESERVE release • For immediate release March 26, 1969 COMMERCIAL AND INDUSTRIAL LOANS OUTSTANDING BY INDUSTRY Commercial and industrial loans increased in all districts and a net of $525 million at weekly reporting large commercial banks during the week ended March 19, reflecting quarterly tax date needs. The principal net increases were $175 million in loans to manufacturers of machinery, $58 million to manufacturers of transportation, and $118 million to unclassified borrowers. The largest offsetting net decrease was $98 million in loans to communication.
