rf^Ttesf:For Immediate release June 29, 1966 H. 12 COMMERCIAL AMD INDUSTRIAL LOANS OUTSTANDING BY INDUSTRY Commercial and industrial loans increased in all districts and a net of $622 million at weekly reporting member banks during the week ended June 22. The principal net increases were $144 million in loans to manufacturers of machinery, $106 million to retail trade, $63 million to transportation, communication, and other public utilities, and $84 million to unclassified borrowers. The larger, offsetting net decreases were $25 million in loans in bankers' acceptances, and $22 million to manufacturers of food, liquor, and tobacco products. Outstanding loans and changes from a week ago and a year ago are shown below; cumulative changes since year-end and during the comparable period last year are shown in the last two columns.
