For Immediate release July 8, 1964 H.12 COMMERCIAL AND INDUSTRIAL LOANS OUTSTANDING BY INDUSTRY Commercial and industrial loans increased a net of $22 million at weekly ' * reporting member banks during the week ended July 1. The principal net increases were $?4 million in loans to transportation, communication, and other public utilities, $51 million in bankers' acceptances, » $28 million in loans to manufacturers of textiles, apparel, and leather products, and $51 million to unclassified borrowers. k > „ The larger net decreases were $80 million in loans to manufacturers of primary metals, $6l million to manufacturers of machinery, $53 million to the retail trade, and $49 million to manufacturers of transportation equipment.
