GHABQES IK COMMERCIAL AMD INDUSTRIAL LOAMS BY IBBOSTRY
Commercial and industrial loans increased a net of $54 million at weekly
reporting member banks during the week ended June 28. The principal net increases
were $97 million in loans to manufacturers of metals and metal products, $64 million
to "other" manufacturing and mining concerns, and $42 million to unclassified
"borrowers •
The larger offsetting net decreases were $46 million In loans to manufacturers of food, liquor, and tobacco products, $4l million to public utilities,
and $25 million each in loans to the wholesale and retail trade and to the construction industry.
Changes in loans during the week and since year-end ax® shown below; the
third column shows the changes during the comparable period last year.
