Commercial and i n d u s t r i a l l o a n s d e c r e a s e d a n e t of $203 m i l l i o n a t
weekly r e p o r t i n g l a r g e c o m m e r c i a l banks d u r i n g t h e week ended J u l y 22.
The p r i n c i p a l n e t d e c r e a s e s were $74 m i l l i o n in l o a n s i n b a n k e r s '
a c c e p t a n c e s , $45 m i l l i o n i n r e t a i l t r a d e , and $44 m i l l i o n t o m a n u f a c t u r e r s of
f o o d , l i q u o r , and t o b a c c o p r o d u c t s .
The l a r g e r o f f s e t t i n g n e t i n c r e a s e s were $59 m i l l i o n i n l o a n s t o manuf a c t u r e r s of m a c h i n e r y , and $49 m i l l i o n t o " o t h e r " w h o l e s a l e t r a d e .
