July 35, 1973

Commercial and Industrial loans increased a net of $236 million
at weekly reporting large commercial banks during the week ended July 18.
The principal net increases were $177 million in loans to
manufacturers of food, liquor and tobacco, $77 million in loans for other
public utilities, and $72 million in loans for transporation.
The largest offsetting net decrease was $69 million in loans
for bankers acceptances.
