COMMERCIAL AND INDUSTRIAL LOANS OUTSTANDING BY INDUSTRY
Commercial and industrial loans decreased a net of $164 million at weekly
reporting large commercial banks during the week ended July 9.
The principal net increases were $66 million in loans to retail trade, $56
million to foreign commercial, $53 million in bankers' acceptances, and $118 million
to unclassified borrowers.
The larger offsetting net increases were $76 million in loans to manufacturers
of machinery, and $67 million to "all other" types of business concerns.
